This weekend we went out Friday night, we went karting then bowling, Kirstly won the bowling by a landslide. We also went to Rhythm and Cues for a game or three of pool and some beers. A great night was had. Saturday we went to Killarney Provincial Park, on the way down I think I spotted a beaver, but by the time we got back to that point it was long gone. We went to the light house and looked around the area a little. This time of year is when the shed flies are spawning or something, they only have a two week season, and we caught it. There will millions of the blighter’s, Hannah was not impressed, she spent the time hiding in my hoodie even though it was about 18deg. We had fish and chips from the van there, they were very good, I ordered more after […]
So we both woke up one morning at about 6am, I guess because it was very light, I went looked out of our window. There was such a beautiful sunrise. Tuesday 1st May, about 8pm, Johnny Reid was at the Sudbury Arena and so were we! It was really good! Kirsty and Phil arrived with us and we went up to Dynamic Earth (there was a scoop tram up there, I think because of the mining expo that was on in Garson) and took a look at the Big Nickel and a quick drive around Sudbury before Hannah finished work, then we went for dinner at The Laughing Budda. Pictures..
About 2 months ago a competition email was sent around Golder, this is it: Drew (A work colleague) came to me and asked if i’d be interested in taking part, well bearing in mind that the final outcome was going to consist of destruction, I was in! Drew went and bought a couple of packets of Popsicle sticks, for a dollar each from a dollar store, we started staying late after work and making a mess in one of the free cubicles here in the office. I traveled to Mississauga for a week during our build, nothing stopped, I just made a mess in the Golder house there instead! Pictures We worked for about 20 hours each we thing on this project. during this time we made a hell of a mess, which even is still at work.. Pictures – To Be Added At work we have what is called […]
I had to take some videos to prove that I didn’t ‘photoshop’ the pictures. So, the first video (in chronological order of cause) is taken on the boat travelling to the Island on the Friday at about 4.20pm. Then I took a video of the street outside the place that we stayed, Park Place Suites. On the Saturday morning we went for a walk past the harbour, this is the calm mirror like water. We then picked up the bike, this is about our second stop. So only about a half mile into our journey. So still, and then a mile on we took this one. And lastly Hannah took a video of us going over the bridge to Michigan And that is all folks! There are some panoramic pictures to make up, so they’ll go up here soon.
The ferry ride back to the mainland was calm and relaxed, I don’t think that they do anything in a rush. We now headed South (away from home) towards the third longest bridge in total suspension in the world. We paid our $4 toll and drive at 45mph (which honestly is the speed limit on the bridge) for about 11 minutes before we reached the far side. Thus 45 divided by 11 is 5.6, 5.6 into 60 goes about 8 times, so the bridge is about 8 miles long. Pretty far eh? We then turned off and tried to find a spot to turn around to head back the other way for home. We found a main street which looked very touristy, but it had a few shops that were open and one particular place was selling fudge, which I had been told was something that we should try. We […]
Well Hannah and I have been just getting on with life I guess, so we’ve not been up to too much. I was ill, then the weather got hot, a high of +24, then a week later a low of -17 I think. The local lake is melting rapidly, even though the ice was approximately 3′ think I would imagine. We went to see Onaping falls the other weekend, also there is a picture of me on Bruce’s ‘four wheeler’ with plow, this was back in Febauray I think. Pictures
Well the weather has gotten so much warmer recently. I walked home from work yesterday without my coat, it was 15degC. Only a couple of weeks ago I was skating on Ramsey, now it’s melting. Today Hannah and I thought we’d head down to Kilarney to see what it’s like down there. It was surprisingly cold still. Then we headed back and went to Ramsey to see what it was like there. Pictures
We got about a foot of snow on Saturday, it was pretty cool! We were out before the snow plough and come and clear our carpark, so we had to dig a route out to the road. It was great fun!! We went and got breakfast out at Perkins then we went up to a shop near the Silver City Cinema, up there it is geenrally windy, the snow was heaped so high. Amazing. Pictures
I just found the pictures of us watching the super bowl, we bought some popcorn which had cashews in it, that was lovely, we also had melon, so there’s a few pictures of that. Today we went with Santi and Tibor (And his dog) down to Manitoulin Island. We went in Santi’s car, and Tibor went in his with his dog, apparently sometimes Tibors dog is not so friendly, though we have seen no evidence of this. We went to Bridal Veil Falls first, they weren’t completely frozen, there was still a little water coming over them. I climbed in behind the falls on the ice, the ice formations in there were pretty cool, as was the frozen falls them selves. We then drove on down to Providence bay, we went there with Jessica in the summer. the whole of the bay looked frozen, but I dont know how thick […]
We went to Onaping falls on Saturday morning, then we returned to Sudbury and went skating at Queens skating rink, where I fell over three times in two laps.. I am getting better honest! We later met up with Troy and Katie and went bowling and played some pool. Then on Sunday we went to Science North for most of the day, when it closed at 4 we went and did a quick skate on the lake, it was very bumpy.. Here are the weekends pictures. Also this is a video of Quillan climbing down to get fed. http://youtu.be/jVfwH4W0sL8
