Joel pointed out to me that I should put LEDs on the helicopter so that I can fly at night. So I had two LEDs, red and green. They constructed such that I cab plug them into a small LiPo battery for my small heli.
Today my new skids for the helicopter turned up. I crashed while flying at Alan’s a few weeks ago and broke one ski of. It took just a few minutes to replace the skids. But after my crash last weekend I am now awaiting the arrival of a new servo. I bought some disc brakes for my disc conversion project. And then this afternoon I finally built a little stand, so that Tigger’s litter tray stay in the bath room, but we could also have a drawer unit there too. Today we went to Waddesdon Manor, which is a National Trust property. The house wasn’t open, but we walked all around the grounds.
I have been trying to add an auxiliary jack to my head unit in the Volvo. The reason being that it’s a old Amplitude Modulation type radio. As such I can’t listen to anything that I want to, only FiveLive and some foreign channels. So I borrowed an oscilloscope and was doing some testing, when the some smoke came out of the wires connecting my phone to the head unit, the wires were an old set of head phones, with the ear bud cut off and wires tinned for a good connection. The phone repair guy remarked that he was unable to fix my phone and that he was surprised that my phone seek worked at all because the mother board was actually charcoal in that corner! All the components were fried.
I spent my weekend fixing the Land Rover, it had fail to continue running the last time we’d all gone green laning. I thought it was going top be the carburettor, but after rebuilding that it still wouldn’t run, I checked the fuel pump bowl, emptied the water from it and replaced it. Still no signs of life. I cleaned the spark plugs, distributor cap and arm, checked all the leads, tried another coil. All to no avail. I ended up going to Mill Auto’s and getting a new coil and four new plugs. It fired first time without the chock. Also replace the head light bulb that had blown and put the last tax disk into the holder, probably for the last time ever.
This weekend I flew my helicopter in the weight watchers carpark next door. Here is the film from the heli: And here are the pictures from my visit to the paper factory and then our walk along the Thames.
Tigger is collecting dread mice outside the window. There are two there now. Hannah went to Cardiff today. So I was left wondering what I might get up to today. Thought I’d go to school.. Not one I’ve been too before though. Here are some pictures:
Tigger brought home a mouse today. Hannah and I had wildly different responses to this. Our responses were probably far more interesting than the mouse. Tigger did look pretty thrilled with his catch and offering to us.. Which was not received by hid staff as he might have liked I don’t think. I tried to show him that I was pleased. But want going to partake in the eating.
Thought this morning Tigger only went out through the window as far as the window ledge, then when another cat came on the scene he howled at the other cat, until I let him in again and the other cat ran off. He hasn’t yet got the hang of fighting with his opponent yet, just yelling, what I can only assume are obsenities.
This post contains events that might cause distress to some readers (They did to Hannah). We let Tigger out into the big wide world, on Sunday evening, we opened one of the sash windows and he gingerly went out onto the window sill. Then onto the ground outside and with in a few minutes he’d disappeared into the trees. Tigger came back a few times during the following 20 minutes then we decided to bring him in so that we could go out. All had gone well. Today; Tigger was going a little wild, so Hannah let him out this morning at about 9.15. He took off into the bushes. Hannah was once again concerned worried, but then at about 12noon he came back, Hannah spotted him, called his name and came running across the patio outside and jumped in through the open window! We’re thrilled that our Canadian cat […]
