I had noticed that there was a grinding noise from the rear brakes a number of weeks ago, and hoped it was just grit and muck in the drum. I finally got around to taking the drum off and having a look yesterday. It was as I had imagined, not grit and muck, but the shoe was worn right out. This tells me that I should have looked ages back.
I shall have to fettle the drum a little and remove some of that grooving. The depth of wear is not great, I’ll roll out the angle grinder and a flap wheel and just take it down a little. I’ll get shoes for the rear axle and do the other side while I am at it.
