Hello everyone,

Well another week has gone by.

Hannah made lasagne for us on Tuesday – it was difficult sourcing the same ingredients as we use in England and so many include added salt. Some of the pictures should give you an example of what the difference is in food!! Maple syrup with beans!! Very strange and we’re not even tempted to try them!

We have had Mike staying here again – Tuesday through to Friday which was nice; we spend quite a lot of time talking as he is a fountain of knowledge.

Hannah was offered a job as an event specialist working in Walmart but for an outside company; she ended up turning it down as we decided it wasn’t worth her working weekends. However she is now volunteering at the library to teach IT to seniors one on one.

We went to the IMAX on Thursday to watch Born to be Wild narrated by Morgan Freeman. It was in 3D and about two ladies; one in Borneo and one in Africa, that 30 odd years ago began to adopt orphaned animals – one elephants and the other orangutangs. It was brilliant and so funny, there was a three brilliant clips of this one orangutang – firstly him and a mate where sat on a bench with a bottle each full of milk (like a coke bottle or something) the second clip showed the one orangutang now with both bottles of milk using his hand and foot to drink out of one but then trying to drink out of both and so he tips the second one all down himself with his other hand; the final clip shows him sat holding a bottle that is now empty so he stands up and walks along the bench and then off screen but as he walks off screen he just raises one hand in the air!

Hannah went to Barrie with one of Brendan’s work colleagues and her friend on Saturday – they spent the day shopping. Barrie is three hours away in the direction of Toronto. If you speak to any woman in Sudbury about shopping they will say you need to go to Barrie as it has amazing amounts of shops and outlet stores.

See Google maps for an idea of where Barrie is.

On Sunday we visited a breakfast restaurant called Tutti Frutti which was lovely. Of course we forgot it was Mothers Day here on Sunday so it was pretty busy but we got a table and it was brilliant food. Most of the food is served with massive amounts of fruit served in fancy designs. The serve waffles, crepes and eggs with a variety of other things in a variety of combinations. It was recommended to us by Hannah’s nurse and we are very glad we went! We also travelled out to Hannah Lake on Route 17 which was pretty cool. We finished the day with a two hour walk to our local lake and back.

We are going down to Mississauga on the 17th. Brendan will be working but we will spend a weekend down there as well to have a look around.

From now on we’re going to be putting in slide shows of all of our pics from the past time frame between posts!!
