We’re having a new kitchen, we’ve chosen to do the rip out ourselves and have it prepped and ready for installation of the new one. I failed to get decent “before” photo, so this one will have to do and you’ll have to use your imagination to fill in the tall cupboard and wall units for me. Thanks! Spend an evening ripping out.. Ripped the units out and pulled the tiles off the walls. Set up the sink outside so that we could wash up, thought this has proved far less useful than I imagined. We had Johnny in to do the plastering. Gave it few days to dry and put on the mist coat. Then a second coat.. Tonight or tomorrow night I might get the first top coat on. Acrylic white emulsion, apparently that’s the business when it comes to hard wearing paint.
We have given away the bike trailer that we were given for Abigail, but of cause having made a bracket for my bike it wouldn’t fit anyone else’s bike, so I have made a bracket for new recipients bike: I have made a better job of this than I did for my own bike. This one is steel and shouldn’t suffer with the bending and fatigue issues that I had with my previous bracket. I hope that by giving this away that we will get Abigail on a tag along type bike in an effort to get her riding.
I went for a bike ride on Tuesday to see what the flooding looked like. The top left photo: I chose not to ride through this was it’s probably about 0.3 meters deep. I rode around via Maiden Newton to see the extent of the flooding down stream. Unknown to me the water levels were still rising, so when I returned to the far side of this flood it was probably a few centimetres deeper. Either way I wanted to get home so rode through it. I got very wet feet.
It’s been a sad week or two. First off Tigger probably had conjunctivitis in his right eye, so kept it closed for a couple of days with brown sludge coming from it, then the left eye went the same, so we went tried to clean it etc, but on the Monday 31th October we called the vets, they saw him on the Wednesday and it turned out to be an ulcer. He went on some meds, pain relief, drops in the eye etc. Then Monday 7th he had clear liquid coming from the eye. We called the vets again and they saw him. This time they kept him in and planned on operating on Tuesday. So I left him there over night. They sedated him and got a better look, but found that the internal structures of the eye were damaged so opted to remove the eye. He’s in again […]
