Niagara and Ottawa

Hannah’s mum and dad arrived in Toronto last week so they spent a couple of days there, then went into Niagara where Hannah and I met them. On the way down we got a big chip in the windscreen.. We spent two nights there and then the four of us traveled back to Sudbury. We decided that we would all go to Ottawa the next weekend as Hannah had Thursday and Friday off, so we left on the Thursday and got in at about 4pm. We again spent two nights there, we saw the houses of parliament, the Rideau Canal, the national art gallary, the Canadian Mint and a few other things. Martin and I borrowed a couple of bikes from the hotel and rode all the way to Quebec and back!
We also went for a fathers day/Hannah’s birthday meal in the Hard Roc Cafe, where we told them that it was Hannah’s birthday, they made her stand on a chair so that they could sing Happy birthday to her, tey then gave us a massive ice cream sundae for free.

The next week, on Thursday we went down to Killarney, during the trip we saw 7 bears, 5 foxes, 2 painted turtles and an unknown rodent making a road crossing far off in the distance. All that in the space of 6 hours!

This was the first chip Hannah could not eat!
Toronto not as good as Sudbury, Ottawa or Niagara, but still well worth a visit.
Absolutely brilliant meeting up with Hannah and Brendan (in the foyer of the hotel at Niagara). Had a fantastic time at Niagara.
Thoroughly enjoyed Ottawa & Dad pleased he could keep up with Brendan on the bikes. The trip into Quebec was intentional even though they got slightly lost on the way and went over the wrong bridge!
The unknown rodent was later identified by Hannah as a Pine Marten.
